For the first time, RHS Chelsea was held in the autumn this year, and was as usual full of world-class designs and exhibits. Photos abound here and we encourage you to take a virtual vacation exploring exhibits from the large Show Gardens to the smaller Artisan and Sanctuary Gardens and even smaller ones focused on balconies and houseplants. There are delightful reminders of how any space can be brightened and enlivened with plants and of how much gardeners enrich the world through their work at whatever level.

We’ll be putting yours in the mail in January, so you can sit back, drink something warm and delicious, and dream of spring and summer days in the garden even while January winds blow outside your window.

So many of us have found hope and comfort through uncertain times in our gardens that orders were booming from friends both new-found and long-standing. 2021 had its difficulties, ranging from pandemic precautions, changing weather patterns, crop failures and then unprecedented delays for our Dutch bulbs at the ports this fall, leading us to need to ship a season’s worth of orders in half the time. Thanks to Rita’s organizational wizardry and the dedication and flexibility of our seasonal crew (and life-partners) in working long days and weekends, we made it through. Our spirits were buoyed and our stress reduced as so many of you responded to bad news with grace, understanding and words of encouragement. Though we don’t know what surprises Spring 2022 has in store for us, we’re certain that our customers are the best!
