| Two Easy Ways to Shop — Quick Order or Point & Click 1. Simply browse our online catalog and point and click on what you want to order. Start by clicking the Fall-Planted Bulbs, Spring-Planted Bulbs, or another button in the TOP row of the green navigation bars above. Or... 2. Our Quick Order option is even easier if you have our print catalog or know your item-numbers. To start, go to the Ordering button on the navigation bar above and when the drop-down menu appears, click on Quick Order by Item #. |
| And Two Separate Seasons You can order any of our bulbs at any time. But each variety is delivered in EITHER spring or fall ONLY, depending on when it is best planted. So our website is divided into two distinct areas — Fall-Planted Bulbs, shipped in October, and Spring-Planted Bulbs, shipped in April. Since they’ll be shipped at different times, you’ll have to complete and send your order for spring or fall before going on to the other season. Your shipping costs will be figured for each order separately. |
| What About T-Shirts, Books, Etc.? We normally ship everything except calendars with your bulbs. But if you want something shipped immediately instead, we can do that. Just order it separately, without any bulbs, and we’ll send it right away. There is no minimum order for books, calendars, and other things. |
| >The Early Bird Gets the Bulbs To avoid disappointment, we suggest you order right NOW. Most of our heirloom bulbs are rare, and we sell out of many of them every year. Since we ship our orders in the order we receive them (with some adjustments for our northernmost customers), by ordering early you’ll not only get your bulbs earlier, you’ll also have a better chance of getting everything you want. We have highlighted our rarest bulbs with a green bar and the word RAREST, and you will also find a list of them on our Rarest: Fall-Planted and Rarest: Spring-Planted pages. |
| Step-by-Step Point & Click Ordering Start by clicking on the quantity of the item that you want to buy. That will add it to your shopping basket. At your basket, choose the state you’ll be shipping your order to, so your shipping charges will automatically display. Please note that, because we’re small and export regulations are complex, we ship within the US only. To continue shopping for another item to add to your basket, use your back button or the menu bars at the top of the page. Or to add to your order by simply entering item-numbers from our catalog, click on the Quick Order button. To return to your basket at any time, click on the My Basket image in the top right-hand corner of every page. If you want to remove an item from your basket, click on the word Remove. Our minimum BULB order is $30. There is no minimum on books, calendars, and things. Once you’ve added everything you want to your shopping basket, click on the Checkout button which will take you to our secure order form. The information in the asterisked fields is required so that we will have complete billing and delivery information. When you have filled out the order form completely, print a copy for your records. You will not have a chance to do this later. Then click on the Submit My Order button. |
| How to Tell If You’ve Ordered Successfully When your order reaches us successfully, you will see a Thank You screen. If something goes wrong, you’ll get an error message instead. Sorry! PLEASE email us with the error message, what operating system you’re using (Windows 2002, OS X, etc.) and what web browser you’re using (AOL 9.0, Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator, etc.) — or whatever you know. That will help us trouble shoot to make sure no one else encounters the same problem. Then please email us your order or ask us to call you and take your order by phone. We’ll do something nice for you to make up for your trouble! |
| Email Confirmation When We Charge Your Order We usually charge orders the day after we receive them, though sometimes it takes us up to a week to do this. If you’ve given us your email address, when we charge your order you will get an automatic confirmation notice by email. This won’t itemize your order, though, so please be sure to print out a copy of your order before you submit it. If we have any trouble charging your order, we’ll give you a call. |
| We’ll Deliver Your Bulbs in October or April We can ship books, tote-bags, and so on anytime, but we ship our Spring-Planted Bulbs in April and our Fall-Planted Bulbs from latest September into early November ONLY. That’s when they’re dormant and we can get them from our growers, and that’s when we can safely ship them without the risk of them freezing dead here in Michigan or en route to you. If you need your bulbs “no later than...,” please tell us when you order. But please understand that we can’t ship ANY bulbs outside of our two short shipping seasons. |

| What If We Can’t Deliver Something? Because we deal with live bulbs grown by farmers who are at the mercy of the weather, and because we specialize in rarities that are often on the verge of extinction, and because we insist on authenticity and the highest quality, there’s always a chance we won’t be able to supply everything you order. If so, what should we do? Substitutions — You can tell us exactly what you want us to substitute for each bulb you order, or you can give us general guidance (for example, “pre-1870 varieties only”), or you can leave it up to us completely. We’ll always choose bulbs that will do well in your zone and give extra value. Our Famous Credit + 10% — This choice is very popular with our customers. We’ll give you a credit to use on any future order for the cost of the bulbs we couldn’t deliver, plus shipping (and any tax), plus 10% EXTRA. We’ll send you a credit slip and keep track of the amount in our computer, so you only need to mention it when you want to use it. Refunds — We’ll refund to your credit card or send a check for the cost of the bulbs we couldn’t supply plus shipping. |
